About Us: The Agile Rugged Terrain Vehicle (ART-V)
team was formed by working men and women across the USA, Canada and
Australia who gathered on Zuwharrie.com to discuss technical
details of the Suzuki Samurai/Sidekick as well as participate in general
conversation which has led to a strong camaraderie amongst the members.
During one late night conversation on the forum following the loss of a
member's mechanic job due to a fire, an idea sprung up that collectively we had
the know-how and equipment to develop our own company and produce our own
vehicle to replace the no longer produced Suzuki Samurai. The vehicle we
are developing will be available for the civilian market and is also being
designed to suit the needs of law enforcement agencies and the Department of
Defense Special Forces troops whom we owe our freedom to. The name of this
vehicle under development is named the ART-V in honor of our friend, MSgt Art Lilley,
who was killed in action in Afghanistan.

Us and Our Personal Rigs:
HUGHMUNGAS (aka: Jim) Fortunately his off handed comment one day that we could start our own company was taken seriously. Now he spends all day trying to play catch up and keep the place organized.
He stretched a Suzuki Samurai into a 4 seater and plans on stuffing a 4.3L under the hood soon. He has been building this rig now for 2 years and it is still not done...but looks dang good sitting in the driveway.

Motto: Experience is something you get just after you needed it.
DADSTOYBOX (aka: Don) Don is the owner of Haul Around Trailers. He refuses to grow up and thinks he knows it all. At least he knows how to build lots of rolling stock out of steel and already has a business doing it...so we keep him around. He is the team lead for the vehicle design crew; the job he describes as "herding cats".
Motto: Life's a dance you learn as you go, sometimes you lead sometimes you follow.
BIGGERHAMMER (aka: Kirk) Kirk is the typical mild mannered big rig driver during the day running convoys, avoiding smokies and all that. By night he is our transportation director and is on the design team. He will have his work cut out for him once we start building these rigs since our manufacturing facilities are scattered all across the US.

Motto: Why waltz when you can rock and roll!

WARPIG (aka: Caleb) Caleb definitely has ADHD, and some people think he even has multiple personalities. He claims it helps him multitask about forty things at once. He is team leader for our Quality Control Dept. He thinks he is going to get to blow up our first prototype.
Motto: If at first you dont succed, get a bigger hammer, gun, or knife, then try again.

YOTAWHEELER (aka: Jed) Jed is the owner of Rock Junkie 4X4. He has actually built a few off road rigs, so he likes to make us feel retarded when we discuss certain pieces parts to our design.
He drives a Suzuki Samurai with a Toyota drivetrain underneath. He is so proud of his rollcage he made that he painted it the brightest color red he could find.
Motto: Corduroy pillows: They're making headlines!
PANZER (aka: Tony) Tony admits he is no fab guy. He is not even good at math and his spelling is terable, so he has dedicated his life to being our marketing director. As you can guess...we plan on a going to a LOT of Hooter's car shows!
Motto: Yea, though I crawl through the valley of rocks in the shadow of death, I will fear no rock: for thou hast 4Lo; thy lockers and thy winch they comfort me.
| |
HOOKER (aka: Pat) Pat can tear
up an anvil in a sand box with a feather hammer and he thinks he is a Jedi Master with a "gas axe". With all those great qualities, we overlooked the fact that he is an expert at building engines, manual transmissions, T-cases, differentials, exhaust
systems and almost anything with gears.
| |
| |
ORIONN (aka: Mark) Mark is actually Body/Chassis designer for a major automobile company, so he pops in from time to get a good laugh at us "amateurs" and puts us back on track. We are not sure if he is here to help or just a spy for the other company (that actually pays him a salary). That is why we keep SJ410Kelly on staff.
| |
SJ410KELLY (aka: Kelly) Kelly has owned over 400 automobiles in his life. He has held probably as many jobs too...from being a sniper in Nam, to selling Kei trucks and also delivering the mail. With a resume of being a sniper and delivering mail we weren't too sure we wanted to be anywhere near Kelly. But since he married the hottie sax player from the 70's band, Wild Cherry, we had to let him on the team.
